Hello,

I didnt find any information about the anjouan licence rules. Where do I find the terms for responsible gaming from the authority?

Best regards

Hi, I hope this information helps you with what you're looking for! 🙂

The Gaming Control Anjouan has established a comprehensive set of gaming codes to ensure that licensed operators conduct gambling activities in a fair, transparent, and responsible manner.

Code of Conduct: Operators must adhere to ethical and professional standards, emphasizing honesty, integrity, and fairness in all interactions with customers and stakeholders.

Responsible Gambling Code: Operators are required to implement policies and procedures that promote responsible gambling. This includes measures such as self-exclusion options, deposit limits, and providing information and support to customers who may be experiencing gambling-related issues.

AML and KYC Code: Compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations is mandatory. Operators must perform customer due diligence, report suspicious transactions, and implement controls to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing.

Advertising and Marketing Code: Operators must follow guidelines that govern the advertising and promotion of gambling activities. This includes ensuring that advertising is clear, accurate, and conducted responsibly, with protections in place to prevent targeting minors.

Technical Standards Code: Requirements are set for the design, operation, and testing of gambling equipment and systems to ensure fairness, security, and reliability.

By adhering to these codes, licensed operators in Anjouan demonstrate their commitment to responsible gaming practices and the protection of players. The Gaming Control Anjouan regularly monitors and enforces compliance to maintain the integrity and fairness of the island's gambling industry.

Hello,

I bet the link may help you investigate the license provider closely: https://anjouangaming.com/players/

"2. Responsible Gaming Support

Anjouan Gaming supports responsible gaming and is dedicated to protecting players from problem gambling. If you or someone you know needs assistance, our Player Support page provides resources and information to help you stay in control.

Key responsible gaming services include:

Self-Exclusion: Players can request self-exclusion from licensed operators to limit access to gaming services.

Time and Spending Limits: We encourage licensed operators to provide options for players to set personal limits on deposits, wagers, and gaming time.

Referral to Support Organizations: We can guide you to reputable organizations offering help and support for responsible gaming.

For self-exclusion requests, please contact the operator directly. Licensed operators are required to report self-exclusion requests to Anjouan Gaming within 1 working day."

Unfortunately this is all a lie as the licensing authority wont intervene with disputes as their interest is to keep their customer (the casinos that pay the license fees) happy.

We all have opinions, I guess.

Have you been dealing on this subject with anyone from the Anjouan? Trying to find out whether you're referring to own experience.

Radka

Yes, I do and I saw the other topic about this licensor where I see experiences similar to mine.

Youssf

Did you happen to get some sort of official response from Anjouan? From my experiences, a good screenshot can be significantly "persuasive".

Considering this licensing provider comes up as a substitute for ending Curacao's four license providers, I guess lack of complexity is sadly not that surprising... From its beginning, my colleagues from the Data Team considered it to be quite a week option. 🙁

Radka

I expected that much. Would be quite shocked to hear any response... I'm sorry

Radka

I'm saying I have never heard of a player who has ever received support from this licensing authority. I can't honestly recall a single one.

Radka

Radka, me he quedado sin palabras.

If you think it's a valid claim and you can trace down their payment processor you can file a chargeback procedure to get your deposits back which can be seen as some win. Or you will have to prosecute the casino in Portugal but this should be checked with a lawyer of course.

It's a poor industry where only a few casinos have a good standard, many out there are shady/rogue I can tell you from my own experience.

Thats enough for a court case if the address is in the European part of Cyprus. The question is if the disputed amount if worth a court case of course.

If you have made the deposits with a MasterCard/VISA you can try to get a refund by doing a chargeback. See the topic thread about Curacao casinos using incorrect merchant codes.

Youssf

Then you should consider it a loss and lesson to never play with rogue casinos that don't pay out.

I imagine this is quite shocking information. Some other regulators have not been very helpful too. Without any means to lecture, it is a significant risk to play outside Portuguese regulations. Generally speaking, the national regulators represent better backup for the players. Which is also the first global self-exclusion step for many vulnerable players. It is a very dangerous paradox. 🙁

I understand Anjouan and Comoros to be technically one license - of the very same "quality."
