Have you already read the detailed interview with our founder Jan Kovac? Do you know how it all started with CasinoGuru?

Let me know if you read it and if something surprised you. In case you have any questions regarding CG, you can ask below and I'll send your questions to Jan 🙂

That was a great read with good insight into the background of CG. Out of curiosity I've checked the web archive (it had two entries from 2016/2015, but returned blank pages), the first visible result was the redesigned layout.

Good tips regarding SEO, I've known about heatmaps but didn't know about Mouseflow , will give it a try sometime.

Perhaps it isn't a good decision to drop them from a business point, but why does CG still work with rogue/blacklisted casinos? The casinos that cheat players will cheat their affiliate partners eventually. The other big platforms leave reviews up but no longer link to them (or outgoing link changed to recommended list).

Thanks for the feedback!

"why does CG still work with rogue casinos?"

Do you mean that even though the casino has a bad rating, you still enter the casino through the affiliate link, because we have the affiliate ID on the "visit casino" button?

I can ask about this, one reason that I'm sure about, is pretty simple. Some casinos were decent so our affiliates department registered into their system. Then as the time flows, the casino got much worse due to terms and conditions, complaints on other or our website, which also influences all related casinos negatively.

We can possibly still have some active players in the casinos (players who registered there when the casino's rating was OK).

Anyway, I already asked the question in our internal chat so I'll let you know when I get some proper answer 🙂

Affiliate ID or not, banner or link, no player should be sent to casinos that have a very bad reputation and are on 3 blacklists (at least 3, the platforms you approve of since you display them). The sensible solution is to recommend better casinos that treat players fairly.

The fact that they were decent in the past or you already have players there shouldn't influence that, you are recommending casinos in their current state.
