I know that in the UK now are legally not allowed to accept players withdrawal requests. I don’t know the consequences if they accept a reverse withdrawal.

my question is if a casino reverses your withdrawal even though you didn’t request it - is there recourse for the player

I'm sorry, but I'm confused. So you say casinos aren't allowed to accept withdrawals submitted by players? That sounds odd.

I think he means UK casinos are no longer allowed to let a player reverse a withdrawal once it's been submitted all part of UKGC safer gambling legislation

Thank you, nigeljc.

Now it sounds quite odd to me. Once the player deposit in the casino, the casino is prohibited to allow the player to take the money back. Am I now close to the point? I can't see any advantage for the UK players.

I think the legislation was to prevent problem gamblers so once you have submitted a withdrawal you can't reverse it so you have to let that transaction get to your bank account and not continue playing without making another deposit. I might be wrong but on one level I can see the sense in it

Generally speaking, I find many of the rules given by different legislations ridiculous, but if you couldn't cancel your pending withdrawal in a casino, then I see it as a great step in order to protect players from losing their winnings. We all know this is a widespread issue.

When you create a payment order in your internet banking, you can't revert it as well so I don't see any issue with this measure. If you decide to carry on playing even despite the pending withdrawal, you can still make a new deposit. If it's supposed to work as I described it here, then I like it a lot!

I requested a substantial withdrawal and whilst the transaction history said it was being processed - the casino reversed my withdrawal without making any note of this on my account - it was because my PayPal account is in my maiden name - they didn’t suspend my account or ask for any details they just put mt withdrawal back into my account - when I spoke to them I said I could send my marriage certificate which I did immediately - I don’t believe casinos in the UK can just elect to reverse your withdrawals Willy Nilly - if it is illegal for customers to reverse withdrawals surely it is illegal for them to reverse withdrawals without your consent - views welcome

Good point they have a tendency to reverse a withdrawal if there is some kind of KYC issue I think that they should hold the withdrawal until any. Problem has been solved

Given it is illegal for customers to reverse withdrawals it has to be illegal for them to reverse your withdrawals without your consent - suspend the account and ask for clarification - what is the recourse ? It can’t be right, there was no méssage or any mention of it when I logged in on my account and I was then told I should be responsible I was responsible they were the ones that were irresponsible - it was for a meaningful amount of money - does anyone know who to contact to find out what the recourse is or better still know the recourse

Thank you Nigeljc - as an expert as reversing withdrawals is illegal (and I think that is a welcome change to the law) and customers can’t do that - surely a company reversing your withdrawal is much more serious - they had no issues taking my deposits from my PayPal account - which has the same email address and contact details - the only issue was it was in my maiden name - as a matter of interest if a site allows a customer to reverse their withdrawal what recourse is there to the customer - from the research I have done it seems the gambling commission fines the gaming company but I simply can’t find any information on the recourse to the customer - I have to be missing something as if the Gamblong Commission fine companies for breaching regulations then it follows the customer who has been wronged should be compensated in some way - otherwise the Gambling Commission collects fines, the casino suffers the loss and the customer who has suffered the loss and reported it spending time going through the whole process is not compensated and you start to wonder what is the point in reporting it as there is no positive outcome for them - I hope I am wrong but have spent hours trying to find out about compensation to the customers and can find nothing

I get your point, but I believe that casinos can do whatever they want with the pending withdrawals. As nigeljc said, they tend to reverse withdrawal whenever something isn't 100% right. The problem is that they should always inform you why they did it and what you need to do in order to get it processed next time. That's how it's always been, but if I understand it correctly, they already applied the changes in the UK?

Yes - so what recourse is there?
