A little warning here for the CG Community: Casino Guru is an open platform where everyone is free to share their thoughts and opinions. We believe in free speech and try to be as non-restrictive as possible. That said, please remember: just because something is posted on the forum doesn’t mean Casino Guru agrees with it or endorses it in any way. We’re really happy to see players engaging in conversations, debating respectfully, and having fun doing so! That’s why we created this platform. However, we’ve noticed a growing trend – not just here, but across other platforms too – where some players, after losing money fairly in a casino, look for ways to get those funds back through their bank or payment provider, often by filing chargebacks or making false claims. We’d like to warn you: this behaviour is not only unfair – it’s also very risky! We’ve already seen and heard stories (here and elsewhere) of people who got into serious trouble trying to go down this route – including closed casino accounts across multiple platforms, closed bank accounts, debts, and even lawsuits (attempted fraud). Attempting fraud or misrepresenting the truth to a bank or provider is never a good idea and could have lasting consequences. So here’s our friendly appeal to all Casino Guru community members: Stand up against unfair and dishonest casinos. Use our Complaints Resolution Center if you need help – you don’t have to fight alone. But please don’t try to get back money you’ve fairly lost. It’s simply not worth the risk. Thanks for being part of our community – and have a great day!

At the moment casino guru are looking into a complaint for me.

Their kyc policy is ridiculous, so do not expect to get that sorted very quickly, if at all.

Because of the above I think I lost winnings as I couldn't withdraw or close my account. It took a long drawn out complaint for them to eventually close my account.

I would not recommend playing there.

Hello, I have not seen that before, but I'm assuming we are explaining to players that even though we are in an affiliate relationship with the casino, as you can see, the rating can be quite low because the relationshipdoes not affect the Safety index.

The same goes for what you call "legality." The casino is not illegal; however, I understand that players from highly regulated markets perceive any casino lacking their specific license as illegal in their country. Therefore, you can always verify the current license on the same page and base your decision accordingly.

As you can also see on the screenshot, it says "unlicensed in UK"—that's specific information for specific countries to ensure you would know about that. You see, the problem is that we know how many UK based players have no other option than to play in unlicensed casinos, so we prefer not to hide all the UKGC ulicensed casinos like the licensing authority prefers but to show all the information, because in the end of the day, even though the UKGC tries to protect its excluded players when they have no one else to turn to, how could they verify promotions popping up in various places if we all hide every unlicensed entry? So basically we prefer informing instead of hiding. It is a complicated issue, and I understand that opinions will always differ.

I am only two weeks off a successful chargeback so I haven’t sent them anything apart from challenging them on the illegal gambling.

They only need the last four digits, if they want more it’s usually to falsify invoices.

As long as the banks raise the chargebacks you will win, if you look back over the 800 pages probably 10 merchants have refunded directly, in my opinion people are dreaming that these criminal merchants will refund so get them emailed then get off to the bank.

I would be careful as another person posted they provided fake invoices, they did win the chargeback in the end.

Let’s say I try to access a legitimate gambling site based in the United States. As soon as I enter the website, I’m automatically blocked due to my UK location, since their services aren’t legally available to users outside their jurisdiction. This is a standard compliance measure.

Curaçao-based operators, on the other hand, routinely bypass these restrictions. You can access their sites without any jurisdictional checks or warnings. There’s no indication that their services are not legally permitted in the UK.

Most consumers have no way of knowing whether a gambling operator is UK-regulated or not. That’s why it’s the operator’s legal and ethical responsibility to implement proper geoblocking from the outset not to deceive users into believing the platform is legitimate or UK-licensed.

I truly understand how frustrating this topic can be, especially for players who are trying to stay safe or have had negative experiences. And I can only respond to matters we can get involved in.

Just to clarify: we’re not an operator and we don’t provide gambling services. Our role is purely informational. That means we do not control how casinos enforce their geo-blocking or which players they choose to accept. We also don't employ gambling law experts in every country, and we don’t pretend to.

What we try to do is offer as much transparent and up-to-date information as possible. That includes whether a casino holds a license, and if so, from where, and also whether it is not licensed in specific countries like the UK. The goal is to help players make informed decisions, not to promote or hide unlicensed options.

We understand that some players, including vulnerable ones, actively seek ways to bypass restrictions such as Gamstop. This creates a grey zone where the best we can do is inform. Not regulated. Not promoted. Just inform.

Yes, ideally all casinos would implement strict geo-blocking and avoid serving restricted regions. But as you pointed out, some offshore operators don’t follow those standards. That’s a wider issue that goes beyond the scope of an information website like ours.

In the end, we believe that full visibility is better than pretending such casinos don’t exist. If we don’t provide this information, players will still discover those sites elsewhere, but without any context, reviews, or warnings; therefore, our aim is to fill this gap.

Our approach to geoblocks is pretty much the same as it is for restricted countries:

https://casino.guru/fair-gambling-codex-for-casinos#restricted-countries

"Requirements for both 'fair casinos' and 'fair and safe casinos'

For a casino to be classified as a 'fair casino' or a 'fair and safe casino' by our review team, it must not allow players from restricted countries to create an account and play. The check for restricted countries must be done during the account-creation process."

Hope it helps.

Well, I do not get the point. Did you see this?

file

I'm not sure if you read how we review casinos, but each unlicensed casino is penalized for not having any licenses, and as soon as it begins to be unfair to players, my colleagues will take action regardless of the licenses involved.

The Safety Index considers more than just licenses, so unlicensed casinos may not receive a rating of 0 unless we can prove they are unfair to players. 🙏

If you notice the casino is not licensed, you can probably move on if that is your main concern. I would probably move on too.

Hello, that would be from a different source.

If your email address is ever shared, as you say it is, it will be the email you used to register at that casino. We do not share anything the casino did not already have in the system.
