Hi there!

If you want to accept participants from all over the world, I would suggest taking English translation into consideration. Could you please tell me what you are studying? It is interesting that, as far as I can remember, the majority of these questionnaires are presented in the same manner.

Hello! I want to accept participants from Greece, however the forums i could find in greek were very limited and i saw there is some traffic of Greek users here. I want to study the relationship between participation in loyalty programs and the quality of gambling activity (from non-problematic/recreational to pathological). In the research I also take into account a personality trait called "reward sensitivity" which is connected to the tendency for high risk activities, and could also be connected with participation in loyalty programs.

Hi! 🙂

Makes sense. So, it seems this forum is the best choice in Greece when it comes to the traffic. Good to know!

I have to say that I really enjoy the subject you selected. According to what I have learned so far, loyalty programs—particularly VIP models—may also be used as a sort of leverage to force players to make larger deposits so they can withdraw larger amounts, should they be fortunate enough to win a sizable sum. Even though I can see the reasoning behind it, I always get a little uneasy when a new player with a lower VIP rank tries to withdraw a sizable sum and is told to deposit money in order to withdraw the initial amount sooner.

However, I am aware that it would require more specific information and exact calculations to determine what is and is not behind the line. Maybe I just need to get used to it, though, as this mechanism has spread around.

I'm interested in knowing our opinion on this.

I agree, especially VIP models seem to be tricky and it makes sense that for a person who has a tendency for risky behavior, it can trigger behaviors connected to problematic gambling.

Of course that is not always the case, however it has been shown in previous research that people in higher VIP ranking tend to experience more problems connected to gambling and simultaneously have the motive of keeping their ranking high which can lead to playing more often or for more money and, inevitably, losing more money at times.

On the other hand, recreational users seem to benefit from such programs, so it seems like it is a matter of where the line is drawn.

That is precisely the other problem I have with this model. Although I did not want to bring up the subject of responsible gambling at such an early stage, your response accurately captures my thoughts. Many casual players may find "the more you play, the more you get" to be excessively stimulating, but that does not mean they will not be seduced. As you said, it is about drawing a line. Are you perhaps familiar with how casinos monitor marks of harm? I feel this topic is very close to the matter itself.

In fact, we include this article in a responsible section:
